Dear Irene,
For the week before I moved into college (GO BARNARD) I stayed in an apartment in Park Slope with my mom. It was the best to have a week alone with her so I could get a little sick of her before we parted ways until Thanksgiving. And, of course, we were made to stay together for a couple days straight because of good old Tropical Storm Irene, which now seems like it was such a long time ago. You can't tell from this picture, but the ivy outside the window was undulating, and one of the most beautiful things that I have ever seen. I was probably just nostalgic for home, and kinda scared for what I was about to move into, but the only other time I have seen something this beautiful was when I was in the gardens of Versailles, which I unfortunately was unable to get a picture of because my camera battery was dead.
So I guess I can actually thank Irene for bringing some more beauty into this world, but now I'm getting cheesy so I should really stop typing right now.
